I'm getting a new car on Friday which doesn't have a spare wheel.

Do the breakdown cover services like Greenflag repair punctures?

If so, and you were at home and had a puncture, would they come out and repair it in your driveaway if you had Rescue Plus.

No. They will take you to a local tyre shop which maybe a good one or one that will say it cannot be repaired and you need a new tyre.

Why not buy a spare? I wouldnt go anywhere in a car with no spare.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with you, I've never had a car without a spare before so wondered what the breakdown covers.

Are the space savers any good or would you always have a full size?

Space savers are much better than no spare at all. You are typically limited to 50 mph for 100 miles (they vary), but they will get you home, or at least to somewhere safe. I space is not an issue in your car, I would go for full size.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

I'm going to measure the space when I get the car home then decide.

You can buy a kit with the car, it comes with all accessories reinforced mat and fittings, but at £400 I didn't bother.

Looks like you can buy space saver and jacks for £60 on ebay.

http://tirerepairkit.com/whichkit.htm or similar, and a compressor. Except for sidewall punctures, or punctures right at the edge of the tread, that should be all you need.

Of course nothing beats an actual spare, but the above is probably the next-best thing.
