Halifax insurance

The saga of a 10 year fight trying to get the Halifax to repair my house, after their builders bodged it up, I have a house I can not live in due to the Halifax,

    I don't think any insurer treats the customer well these days.

    Generally, I tend to avoid such things as they are largely populated by a vocal minority that does not represent the majority.

    Well if one is forced to choose one crappy insurance company over another then reviews have their uses. How do you pick a good insurance company then dunstonh?

    Not by reading pages about them that are explicitly set up to complain about them and are therefore going to give a very biased impression.

    That doesn't answer the question at all; so how do you choose a good insurance company?
