Price increase when NCD goes up by a year (made error on quote)

Not bought insurance yet as due 8/4
Yesterday, I put down the wrong number of years of NCD when entering my details on a price comparison website for quotes. I put in the correct one this morning - a year longer and the cheapest quote is £2.53 MORE than yesterday - a little over 1%.
Why is that?
