The Bluefin is a portable remapping device that plugs into your vehicle's diagnostic port and then reads the original ECU map. This is then sent to Superchips via the internet for them to custom-build you an enhanced map tailored to suit your vehicle. This enhanced map is then uploaded directly into the vehicles' ECU. This new map increases the power and torque of a typical turbo-diesel campervan by around 30 per cent and can make it much more effortless to drive. The extra grunt is great for overtaking too, or lugging a trailer up a hill. The remaps can also benefit the fuel economy too - the extra low-down torque results in fewer gear changes as the engine can hold a higher gear for longer.

On their rolling road, Superchips found that a VW Transporter from 2009-onwards fitted with the 102bhp 2.0-litre engine will typically produce around 171bhp with a Bluefin remap, while the torque improved from around 272Nm to around 371Nm.

Best of all, you can switch between the modified engine map and the standard engine map at any time. You will need to tell your insurance company you have an upgraded map fitted to your vehicle. Superchips also offer a one-year 30,000-mile warranty with it, too.
