I have posted this on another thread, I applied for an account before Christmas, six weeks later I got the letter to say the account had been opened. Loads of letters later and I phoned to make the switch on three separate occasions. Each time I hung on for ages, so they advised I go into my local branch. Where I queued up, directed to another area, queued again and then I was advised I needed an appointment to do the switch. At this point I closed the account. Shoddy service. How can first direct excel at customer service but HSBC be so bad?0

They don't tell you because then you could post the reasons on here and everyone would work out how to fiddle the systems! The staff aren't told themselves for the same reason.I am employed as a manager in a financial services institution. My views are entirely my own.0
