Paying insurance with no car
Hi, i recently posted about having a courtesy car and having it taken off me cause it was costing too much. Well my car was written off and i was supposed to be getting a cheque but because the other side is disputing the claim i scrapped the car but still waiting for a cheque.
At the moment im paying around £75 a month to insure a car that doesnt exist anymore and also theres the point that when you insure a car its so that if you have a crash you can pay out, well if im not driving anything then how can i crash and why should i be paying this month every month when im not using it?
I can imagine that the insurance company will turn around and say well its a 12 month contract so the money gets paid anyway but do i have any sort of arguement? Im currently bussing to and fro work and college
Also, this is just an opinion but when they gave me a really expensive hire car wouldnt it of been better to give me the cheque of about 750 for my car instead of pay like £6k for a hire vehicle. then i wouldnt be without a car right now

Ask the insurance company if they can suspend the policy until you get another car. I don't think you'd be able to cancel and get a refund because you've claimed, but they might suspend it.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

The issue is that if your insurer settles a claim in the policy year then the full annual premium is due, regardless of whether the policy is subsequently cancelled. Leave the policy running, then decide whether or not to cancel when the claim is closed.0

I thought that if a claim is made and paid for a car that is written off, the rest of the annual premium is deducted from the payout cheque
so as mentioned above contact your insurance companysmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....
