Anyone been through a claim before with Halifax?
Their assessor has visited and agreed to pay for damage repairs of few thousand pounds with a company we have sourced.
But they say we need to pay and they will reimburse. I can't afford to to pay all this £XXXX and wait for reimbursement. Is this normal procedure?
thanks

This is one way to settle a claim. Another is for the insurer to pay the repairer directly. Tell the insurer you can't afford it and ask hem to pay direct. But they say we need to pay and they will reimburse. I can't afford to to pay all this £XXXX and wait for reimbursement. Does Halifax have their own supplier which they could use to perform the works? This would usually only mean paying any relevant policy excess up front.0
