Wrong number reg when you phone the automated parking fine telephone number

I have a parking ticket,when i phoned the automated service to pay the fine ,its gives me the wrong reg number for the car.
What do i do.
Do i have to pay the ticket?

    Is this a council or private ticket? i.e. Who issued it and who does it say to pay to?

    Either way, if they have the wrong number, the chances of even a legit ticket being enforceable are nil, so stop phoning them and wait to see if you get an NTK before doing anything else.

    If this is a council ticket you would be better off visiting pepipoo.com.

    If this is a private parking ticket you should read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES.
