hope someone can help
I want to go away in the uk on saturday stay overnight with husband and kids (boys aged 4 and 8). I really would like to stay somewhere with entertainment for the kids or somewhere I can have a day out with the kids that does not cost a fortune.
Any ideas I'm in manchester so don't mind about an hours drive

forbidden corner in leyburn is different and im sure there are plenty of b+bs nearby

worden park at leyland is a good day out on a sunday
there is as miniature steam railway run by enthusiasists with a couple of large tracks .this is free to ride on/contributions if you are flush.
the park has a large play ground
cafe is open but you could make it cheaper by taking own food
there is an arty/workshop area where kids can get involved on certain weekends

:j :j Thanks for the ideas I was going to go with alton tower but a little pricy so I saw an advert for camelot so going saturday get preview tickets for park from 2-5 and then get in free next day. £168 all in for a family of four dinner bed and breakfast. I will let you know how it is.

I am going to do the forbiden corner next time as it looks great for the kid but will take a little time to plan
