Booking one way tickets each way from ireland to USA

Hi I have settled on the family flying from Dublin to SFO and back LAX to Dublin with Aerlingus. If I booked a return its 2000 euros but if I book each separately its 1100 euros out and 900 dollars back. This works out at about 1200 pounds saving £200.

Question: can we in UK/Ireland book from USA to Ireland ? Or can I get someone in USA to book it.

This saves £200 so must be worth it eh ?

Finally is there any other way of getting discount on Aerlingus flights eg via expedia etc.

I booked a one-way NYC to GLA on the Aer Lingus site in July so I don't think that it willl be a problem booking a ticket for travel from US. It gave me the option of paying in $ or converting the total to £ before charging my card. I chose the latter but I think it would have worked out cheaper leaving the total in $ and letting the credit card company convert.

I couldn't find any discount codes for Aer Lingus at that time.
