Google and Bing maps

Why do Google and Bing maps have the same colour for roads as they do for the surrounding land? If you zoom in a lot you can begin to see the faint outline of the roads.
I was using google maps last night, I could not see the roads from the surrounding land, (only the road names show) so I switched to Bing maps and that was slightly better but essentially the same.
Surely it would be more sensible to have roads in Yellow/red/blue like they used to.
I can't post a screengrab of what I saw
That was last night on a Windows 10 computer using Explorer 11.7
Where the roads were white against a white background.
But today on my home computer, using firefox, I can see the roads are white against a light grey back ground.
What is the problem?

With Bing you can choose to see the OS map as long as you don't zoom in too far. Of course there are no road names on OS.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Not sure what the problem you were having was. The roads on Google maps are well defined (white on light grey). Nothing to do with W10 as that's how it appears while using it here on FF, Edge and I.E
