web page edit for use on cd

Many a moon since I have edited a web page or even produced...so memory a bit hazy!...and things have moved on a lot in the time!!!

I wish to (and have permission) to copy several web pages to file - saved as 'web pages complete' within Firefox - so that an elderly person without internet access can open and link locally (relative hyperlinks if I remember correctly?). In so doing they can use their offline browser to read the data on the 'home' page and several of the pages (and a video) that the web page links to.

Can anyone explain if there is an easy way to search and replace the links, edit them to point to the linked pages within the same folder, or automatically to do the same.

All the pages/data etc for them will be in the 'root' folder and appropriate sub folders as per the original but will be save onto CD.
I did produce a cd copy of something similar for distribution to offline users many years ago but forget how I did it, probably using Homesite at the time.

If I am being too ambitious just let me know!! :beer:

Unless links are hard coded to specific locations they will always be relative.

Example:
<a href="http://www.moneysavingexpert.com">MoneySavingExpert.com</a&gt; <-- hard link as no matter where you save it it will always go there.

<a href="moneysavingexpert.htm">Money saving</a> <-- local. Clicking this will take the browser to open the page moneysavingexpert.htm in the same folder you're looking at now.

A simple find and search in Notepad or Wordpad will allow you to replace the links from hard ones to relative ones (find and replace http:// and www with a blank space for example). You just then need to make sure they point to the right places.

On firefox get 2 addins: scrapbook, scrapbook plus.

Given the small scale of this will probably just search/replace but the other info is useful too.
