Hi thanks for your response. I received letters in 2013 from both MBSN and Barclays about potential mis-sale of PPI but didn't grasp their significance ( the 3 yr timebar) at the time due to personal issues. After re-finding the letters and tracking down relevant documents this year I submitted the claims for mis-sale of PPI in Feb and both Barclays and MBNA rejected on the basis of my being out-of-time. I wrote to both again with more detail of my previous situation over 2013 to now and MBNA have just written agreeing there was a mis-sale and will be paying me over £600 in the next month. Barclays sent a further rejection so I have applied to the Ombudsman. They may uphold Barclays decision but I thought it worth trying. Certainly explaining my situation in more detail to MBNA was worthwhile.

Hi just to update on my last part of my PPI claim. I sought the help of the Ombudsman in respect of Barclays upholding the 3yr timebar(ie they wrote to me in 2013 advising to:) reply within 3ys but I had domestic problems at the time and had stuffed letter away with other correspondence w/out realising its significance-only found it again this Jan).The adjudicator was not encouraging but agreed to liaise with Barclays. Got letter and cheque today. Barclays re-considered their previous 2 rejection letters, decided to uphold my claim and have repaid £2,000. I am very appreciative of all the advice I received from the Martin Lewis' webpage and this forum which encouraged me to check my old paperwork.
