Old Lloyds loan PPI is it possible?

Well I must be lucky, I sent an initial PPI enquiry letter to Lloyds a few months ago (template letter from this site). I know I had a few loans and credit cards with Lloyds going back to early 1990's. I didn't know the account numbers or had any paperwork from back then.

Not thinking much more about it, I got a text message from Lloyds with a PPI reference claim number. A couple more texts saying they wanted to speak to me, but I never did. On Monday there were four letters through my door. Two contained cheques for PPI refunds, the other two were the statements confirming the amounts & calculations. Needless to say, I was very surprised - not only at the amounts refunded (substantial), but also by the fact that the only correspondence I sent was the template enquiry letter.

I like seeing your post because it makes me think this is a lot easier than other people are letting on and it will give others much needed hope. After some of the replies I got here I honestly didn't think I had much of a chance but glad I tried and succeeded and was not put off.
You never know unless you try, lack of info/paperwork should not put anyone off trying. :beer:

You don't need hope, you need valid complaint reasons.
No one told you not to complain, no one told you it was impossible or difficult, they just said make a valid complaint.

It is that easy.


They sent you a form and asked you to fill it in. It was that easy,You fill in what you remember and leave the rest to them.

Read the replies, I was told: "don't hold your breathe" "your case is weak simply because you have none". Not exactly confidence boosting is it? At that point I almost didn't bother sending the form off but decided to dig a little and send it off anyway! You sound like a real bundle of fun!

You were simply told to provide a more compelling complaint than the one you detailed in your original post.

By "digging a little" you appear to have done that and been successful.

We didn't say yes, you're worthy and you shuldn't take no for an answer because you deserve it, you're the best.

We just gave him advice on what t say and what not to say. I don't know how I stand myself sometimes.

GAV76 many thanks for replying. Fingers crossed for us then as we had a couple of cards and one loan for quite a large amount of money so am hoping our complaint is strong enough to be upheld. Thanks for the help.
