Best time in insurance year to get new car?

I'm planning on a new (used) car soon, was just wondering if there was an optimal time in the insurance cycle to upgrade? (as I'm not too fussed when I get something new).
The policy is up for renewal in a month or so - best to do now at the end of the policy or beginning of the new?
Or do you just get shafted either way?

You won't get 'shafted' at all. If you get the new car once your policy ends, then you won't need to pay an admin fee to change the vehicle, unless you auto-renew with your current insurer.0

Part exchanging your car? Tell your insurer you wont be renewing if their quote is higher than elsewhere and swap cars on the day your insurance expires.
Or hand your car over to the dealer one day and pickup your shiny new car and new insurer the next day, if they wont allow a 1 day overlap.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
