getting photos from pc onto instagram

i am trying to share photos with a group on instagram. these are old slides that i have scanned in to my pc. i am not able to get photos onto instagram on from the pc as i am using windows 7.
I thought if i added these to my flickr account i could then access them from my ipad, except there is no option on instagram to search your pics on flickr, and even though there are options to share pics on flickr via face book, twitter etc, or to your notes, mail etc there is no option to download onto my photos page or on to my home page.
is there a way to do this or will it be a matter of putting it on a usb stick and transferring manually.?

okay, i downloaded the recommended bluestacks app and it took forever, and my pc slowed down considerably, and everything else i had to do with the bluestacks app took forever to do..I decided to restart the pc and it took 5 mins to boot up. have removed the app. i have decided it ismuch quicker and easier to attach the photos to an email, send them to my ipad and save them from there. and pc is running normally now.!
