CanI chase underwriter after 6 months of Final Decision??

Options
Hi all,

I was after a bit of advice, I have tried to reclaim ppi from a secured loan myself and my wife took out in 2001. The loan was with First National Tricity Finance, who had been taken over by GE Money. In 2012 I wrote to GE Money asking for a Refund and reasons I believe it was missold, and we had a reply saying that GE Money were not members of GISC and the letter was there final response on the matter. It did say I could contact the FLA about the complaint within 6 months of the letter.

I didn't complain to the FLA at the time as I just thought that there was no way I was going to get any joy as it was way back in 2001.

So I contacted GE Money again about the mis-selling of PPI and they wrote back saying that they had previously written to me in 2012 stating that it was their final response.

But now I have been reading some stories on these forums about people complaining to the underwriters and having some success.

So my question is; Do you think I can complain to the underwriters after 5 years of the letter from GE Money saying it was their final response?

Many Thanks

There is a very small window where it can work. Success rates tend to be single digits though. It has to fit a set of circumstances and commercial relationships.

Yes. However, just be wary that it is a low success rate but you wont know unless you try.
