Does anyone know where I stand,
I work nights in a factory, and today the day shift have been given letters to state that they company has gone bankrupt (again this happens alot), and that their employment has ceased. the boss has told them they can take redundancy if they like, but they can still continue in their employment.
Night shift have not had these letters, but the firm has been in a bad way for about 8 years. This is the second time to my knowledge that the firm has gone bust, We are getting paid from different companies every few weeks, and it look like they have tried to shift one company to another. We have also spent the last 18 months not being paid full amounts on time, and often it comes to a point where we have to down tools to get some money. ACAS are rubbish, stating that we needed to put grievances in writing, which we did, but they were not very supportive and basically "employers have cash flow problems!" please anyone with this experiance help!
