Patio cleaners

Anyone know anything really good to use to clean indian stone. The power washer just seems to blast all the motar out of the joints

    If its green algae then I would recommend the Astonish mould and mildew remover. Just squirt it on and wait.


    I know that this is not eco friendly as it contains bleach but Hey Ho it works.


    It can be bought for just £1 from your friendly Home Bargains/Poundstretcher type outlets.

    I use Wet & Forget. Not the cheapest, just mix it in a sprayer soak area & forget about it, no scrubbing.

  • We use Patio Magic on our Indian sandstone patio. Easy to use and very effective; available from Amazon, B&Q and other such outlets.

    I use sodium percarbonate as a patio cleaner. Its a non toxic granule that produces alot of oxygen and water, it lifts the dirt straight off. It does a very good job of killing moss on my drive too!

    Some patio/slab cleaners are poisonous to cats.

    Read the whole label, including the small print - the main label sometimes says 'Safe once dry' whereas the small print will say to keep animals off the cleaned area for 48 hours.
