Afternoon all.
I really hope someone can help me. I put a claim in for PPI against HSBC last month through Resolver (thanks to this site.) I had an email back fairly quickly confirming they had received it and it's been passed to the relevant department. Anyway, last week I got a letter in the post saying they were unable to carry on with my complaint until I could prove my signature and address as they didn't match those on record. Firstly, I obviously didn't sign it as it was done through Resolver so not sure where they've got that from and secondly, I gave my old address that the now closed account was in and new address (which they sent the letter to). I had to take a form into my nearest branch, do a signature and they had to take photocopies of my driving license and proof of address which I have done.
I just want to check they have received this from the branch I took it into as the employee said they had to send it for me. I rang the customer services today, but they couldn't help me as the account is closed and they can only see that I used to have an account but can't access the details or check on progress of the claim. Does anyone here have a contact number or email address for the PPI department please?
Many thanks

A lot of the letter templates used by them will not allow free text and they will select the nearest one.I gave my old address that the now closed account was in and new address (which they sent the letter to). Good, that should sort any issues.I rang the customer services today,
Who are not the complaints team.Does anyone here have a contact number or email address for the PPI department please?
it will be on their website.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
HSBC use underhand tactics the number for them is 03457 404404. They will try to wear you down0

Reality check - No, they will ask for the information they require - not attempt pyschological warfare.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Thanks for the replies. The 03457 404404 number is the one I tried but they were no help as my account with them was closed a number of years ago. The call handler could see my name and details on the system, but couldn't do anything with it as the account was closed. Surely there's direct number and/or email for the PPI department?0
