Selling to a housing association

I am in the process of selling my house and was talking to my boss the other day. She mentioned 3 years ago she had a property similar to mine a few streets away. She wanted to sell and approached a housing association, they came round, valued the house and offered her the going rate, cash!
I am going to ring this company on monday to see if they would consider my house and what position they are in at the moment.
Has anyone else gone through this and how long did it take for the association to view your house and make an offer?
I have seen a house, had my offer accepted and looking to sell mine rather quickly. Its in a good position, well maintained and "desirable", so the EA's keep telling me.
Any opinions would be gratefully received.
Thank you.

My brother did this and it was very straightforward. Can't remember how long it took but there weren't any hold ups and he was very happy. Do you have an estate agent? Check your agreement. When we sold ours, the agreement said we had to pay the fee if they introduced a buyer, another agent wanted the fee even if we found a buyer ourselves.0

Do they only want certain types of house?
Ours is a 2 bed chalet bungalow, semi rural (field out the back) but ideal for a couple or small family....0
