Great deal on Central Heating

hello! I'm new here and I spotted a few people asking about central heating. It's maybe been mentioned before but for anyone looking for a good deal on a central heating system, check out:
https://www.mrcentralheating.co.uk
I've used them before and they were excellent. Don't know if they would sell you a boiler separately.

& thats what we thought, too!!
So what you do is....price up what you want from MrCentralHeating......
THEN, with plumber & credit card in hand,, go to local plumbcentre (blue signage - yellow writing, like Jewsons) to get a price match/beat/upgrade deal!!

Im after a new boiler as i have just moved house and the boiler is 20 years old and no one will cover its breakdown. As i have never done this before i called british gas to quote me (i know they are not the cheapest..but just for an idea) and they quoted me £2315 for a new conventional boiler and flushing the system...can someone please answer the following questions for me:
1- is this a very high quote for a conventional boiler?
2- I wanted a condensing boiler but the guy said that because of the position of my boiler in the utility room, the emmissions coming out of the condensing boiler might upset the neighbours and i have only got 2 options either to install it in the loft (will cost £1000 extra for the extra work) or settle for a conventional boiler in the utility :-[
3- He said that if i want to go with the conventional boiler i have to do that before April2005 as after that only condensing boilers will be installed and it will then cost me more as i have to go for the loft option.
can any one help please ???0 -
Q1) BG will allways be costlier than an independant plumber due to overheads, you should be able to get it for about a third of the price quoted
2) There are strict guidelines govering the location of a flue terminal see here if it complies with this, there should be no problem. The plumber saying it might upset the neighbours, to me sounds a bit "iffy"
Find out all about them, along with info on grants etc hereI'm only here for the banter0 -
Or http://www.discountedheating.co.uk . The materials ordered are dispatched from your local Plumbcentre. Plumcentre is ok if you know what you want and the counter staff are prepared to discount (it depend who you get). PC don't pitch their business towards the guy in the street. As an example of priceing check out a combi such as the exellent Bosch Worcester 28cdi from PC, then get a price from discounted heating. Same boiler coming from the same stock...big difference in price.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0

A good forum is DIYnot.com. There seems to be plenty of knowledgable folk on there, who should be able to put you straight. Sorry I can't link you to it, I don't know how. Hope this helps.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0
