Sky broadband & line rental '£5/mth-ish'

I don't know if a thread has already been started on this Sky deal.

My query is

My current broadband contract ends in April 2017 (I don't remember the precise date at this moment). If I take up this Sky offer by 17th March 2017 can I defer using it until the date in April?

If I end my current contact early I will incur a penalty charge which will defeat the savings I will make on the Sky contract.

Regards

Very, very doubtful they'll defer it. Considering it's the 9th of March today surely any 'penalty' payment wouldn't be much? Have you tried asking your current supplier? They may try and match.

    They won't defer it.
The OP would also have to give a month's cancellation notice and won't be treated as a "new" customer for twelve months after that.
I doubt she is even eligible for this deal, though there is no link to check.

    EDIT;
    Found the deal
"This is a staggeringly cheap deal, but you have to be a Sky newbie (or at least not have had its phone, TV or b'band in the last 12mths)."

I read it as the OP's current broadband contract being with someone else other than Sky, pointless thread if they're already with them. (but no surprise perhaps)

I am terribly sorry you have misread my posting. As the terms and conditions state for new Sky customers only I do not think many people, including myself would make the mistake of wasting any bodies time in trying to apply for an offer that they are not going to be successful in receiving.

For those with difficulty understanding let me spell it out - I AM NOT A CURRENT SKY CUSTOMER!

I think you misread my post as that's how I read your initial post and said so.

I'll accept your apology in advance :p

Edit: You didn't make it clear either way btw.

Then to answer your question, no Sky won't defer it.

Pity it wasn't abundantly clear in your initial post, it's made the thread far longer than it needed to be.

Have you had a email/letter yet informing you prices are going up? also if you're within your minimum contract term with your currant provider and as I do not know your contract end date, but you probably have 14 days after email or letter to switch to a new provider or 30 days and no provider
Important:within 14 days after email / letter to switch to another provider or within 30 days to end your contract with your provider to no provider or you will probably be charged.
