Next Retail refund for overcharged interest

A few days ago and out of the blue I received a letter and a cheque for £2.72. In typical Next fashion it said that they had overcharged me interest and had calculated what they owed me plus 8% as goodwill.

Now that wasn't goodwill they had taken money that wasn't theirs and have a statutory requirement to refund it. The letter didn't say the period to and from nor the calculation.

Now if I had paid late they would have charged me £7.50 for the privilege and banged on the interest.

So I have made contact to request the to and form dates, the calculation.

Next Step I am going to claim compensation for mal-administration of account, charge them for overcharging me and i want the interest they would have charged me plus 8%.

Lets see what happens....
