HELP!! I keep getting this error message and it seems to relate to Skype. I've uninstalled/reinstalled Skype to no avail. I tried a system restore and completed a Malware run, still no change. I run Avast as my anti Virus and I'm on Windows 7 premium. Can anyone help me fix this please.

    I am guessing you "updated" skype recently?

    I have EXACTLY the same problem, having done just that,
    after an auto-payment from my linked visa card, skype sent
    a request to update, foolishly I clicked on it....
    Result, skype disappeared completely. GRRrrr. :(

    If I try to download skype, it tells me I am logged in,
    but says that same runtime link is missing from my computer;
    so how come skype worked ok before ??

    Hopefully someone will come on and solve this mystery,
    I am using Windows 7, and never had a problem previously.

    A quick search for the error message suggests it's due to a failure to have the latest updates to Visual C++ installed. Here's a link to a solution for someone who also reported it as a Skype problem (which it isn't).
