does More Then travel insurance cover for lost days of holidays?

Hi all,
We went on a holiday last year and the flight was delayed & diverted to Paris, France - we got to our holiday destination 2 days late - claimed on the flight delay via MSE & Resolver and we where paid out 2 weeks ago - was told by the airline that they do not compensate for the lost 2 days of our holiday and to claim from our travel insurance company - called More Then today and they told us that they do not cover this and not many insurance companies do either - is this true or where we just told excuses?
Can any one HELP us please???

Section C3. Depends which level of cover you have as to how much you can claim.I am just thinking out loud - nothing I say should be relied upon!
