Hi All,
I dont know if anyone can advise.
I have had my packaged bank account for over 20 years with Natwest, I felt sure that it was mis sold originally and went through the process of writing to my bank, they confirmed that there was some errors made, for eg they did not communicate or send me any information about my bank account for 4 years after opening the account but still rejected my claim. I took it to the ombudsman and they agreed that there was an issue but said that as I have had the account for so long it was too late to do anything about it.. Is their word final?

Have you ever made use of the benefits? Travel insurance is the most obvious.0

This seems fair. You have had it for over 20 years. Errors in the first 4 years means you have had over 16 years of correct compliance. You have three years to raise a complaint about something you should reasonably be aware of. So, you should have made a complaint by around 13 years ago.I took it to the ombudsman and they agreed that there was an issue but said that as I have had the account for so long it was too late to do anything about it.. An adjudicator make a decision on your referral of a complaint to them. You can appeal to an ombudsman. Their overturn rate is only around 10% and tends to be more applicable to complicated things. Yours is not a complicated case. You are clearly well past the point you can argue about something being wrong all the time ago.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
