Cheque declined as >6 months old

Options
Hello - does anyone know what to do about a bounced cheque for PPI?

The cheque had been received at an old address, and it was eventually passed on by the tenant many months later. My hubby banked the cheque without really looking at it. The bank then checked with the company who issued the cheque, and they have declined to honour it.

Can he submit a new claim, or force their hand in any way to issue a new cheque?
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Can he submit a new claim

Why do that? The complaint succeeded. It doesnt need a new complaint to look at it again.

No need to be so confrontational. He just needs to return the cheque to them and ask for a new one. A nice, simple and polite request.

I think he tried that, and they declined to pay - will double check his paperwork. Any ideas on where he stands legally?

It is CPP - I've just found some other threads about this. I think the best way forward is probably to try the bank the original credit card with held with.....

The CPP scheme closed some time back. They won't now re-issue the cheque and the bank is not liable. The bank will only accept complaints about CPP taken out prior to regulation in 2005.
There is a huge thread elsewhere on the forum.

    CPP is not PPI.
