on both phone and tablet, I can open chrome cast, it shows casting... but there is nothing on the TV (samsung UE40H6400).
I have had it working when I first bought chromecast thing. Sure it was HDMI2 to select, though have tried other ports. Still nothing.
The google microphone is turned on, the power saving option on phone/tablet is turned off. What am I dong wrong ?? please

Obvious things first. Does it have power (do you use USB power from TV or via a mains plug); look at the back of the TV and actually check which HDMI socket its in (and is it plugged fully in).
EDIT: assuming power's there and you've selected the correct TV HDMI channel - the next test is to look at the lights on the device...

^ Yes to the above. First thing to look for is a white light on the Chromecast. IIRC, flashing white is booting or searching for network, flashing red is 'problem'. Mine wouldn't connect a while ago, and it turned out it needed a software update.
You need to forget about the tablet and phone for a while, and concentrate simply on getting the Chromecast's picture on the TV (yes, it has a sort of background screen even when not connected to anything. Look at the back of the TV to see what HDMI number it's plugged into for starters. And I think a long hold of the button on the Chromecast will reboot it - definitely worth a try.0 -

PS. Must admit, mine's on the shelf now I don't have BT (Chromecast supported the BT Sport app); now using Roku streaming stick.0

Mine's still plugged in for the occasional Plex use, but I mainly use my Android box now.0
