I took out PPI on loans years ago, with Alliance &Leicester building society. on the application form it had two repayment prices, one with PPI and one straight repayment. I ticked with PPI. can I claim anything on the grounds of no advice given as to my circumstances.

You are entitled to make a complaint about anything you like. However, the response you get will depend on whether there was any wrongdoing or not.

No advice is given by any loan provider on PPI. Not unless they have crossed the line by mistake. So, that in itself (and ignoring everything else) would not result in a successful complaint.

And as you ticked it yourself, you missbought rather than were missold.

If however it was a loan, you can try a complaint that it was single premium.
