Hi guys!
I tried to tile and fit my own bathroom, first time buyer and all that but its turned into a disaster, thankfully the suite is ok so im going to take it back out and get someone in to re-do it,
All the tiles have got to come off and 2 of the walls are plasterboard, one is an external wall, basically the plasterboard is knakered, and i need to replace it before the fitter comes, whats the best thing to use, its the side and end of the bath?
Plasterboard again or should i use marine ply???
words of wisdom...its not as easy as it looks... iv wasted £300 and god knows how many days.
thanks for you help

You told me again you preferred handsome men but for me you would make an exception.

It is such a shame that it cost you so much money but you had a go and when the pain wears off you'll realise that you've learnt from it! Most DIYers learn by doing it and by making the mistakes - some cost money, others just cost time and nerves. The nice thing about the forums is you can benefit from the mistakes that others have already made! Some of the people on this forum are altruistic professionals sharing their advice but most are people who've earned their expertise the hard way. So, as ormus says, share the disaster!
Maybe we should have a 'my biggest mistake' thread! Which reminds me that I need to order the lino to cover my 'painting the floorboards but muddling up the tins and can't face sanding the whole thing again because I put on the wrong finish' disaster! Not admitting that one to my nearest and dearest who thought it was a bad idea in the first place. Actually, what about a 'how I got around admitting it was really my DIY mistake' thread?0
