UKCPS Centertainment Sheffield

Hello

I recently had a parking charge notice from UKCPS at Centertainment Sheffield for £100 or £60 if paid within 14 days for parking in a disabled bay.

We had a reservation at a restaurant and then we had booked cinema tickets for after. After around 40-45minutes of driving around trying to find a space, we were now very late for our reservation. The car was parked in a disabled bay away from the main entrance, (normally this isn't something I would condone. However, there were about 10-20 free disabled bays available). Does the fact that the car was in a disabled bay (albeit on private land) create a greater issue for appealing? We have kept the cinema booking, restaurant booking and the receipts. Both of these businesses are located in the retail park.

I have been doing some reading up on parking charge notices but I still feel as though I am unable to commit to appealing so I would like some advice, please. First of all £60 is manageable for me but £100+ is not. Would I lose being able to pay £60 if I appealed?

Thanks

You should not park in a disabled space unless an occupant of the car has a condition or protected characteristics in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. There is no excuse no matter how late you were for a meal.

    Lecture over.

You haven't said what the alleged contravention was. Perhaps parking in a disabled bay without showing a disabled blue badge? The BB scheme does not apply on private land and there is no requirement to show such a badge in law.

You should read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the IPC template in blue you will find there. Copy and paste and send. Expect it to be rejected. You then go into ignore mode unless you get real court papers.
You can safely ignore debt collectors.

You should return to the car park and obtain your own pictures of the entrance and signs in case this goes to court.

The £60 discount is for mugs. Nobody here will suggest you at anything.

I have exactly the same thing at the same place.
Difference was my terminally ill mother was with us as we were taking her for a meal.

No blue badges, but wheelchair bound and it will probably be the last time she ever goes out for a meal. The distress the ticket caused her when we got back to the car was unbearable, I doubt she will ever allow us to take her there for a meal again - even if she is ever physically up to the journey (highly doubtful tbh) because of the ticket.

BTW - the glue of which will STILL NOT come off the windscreen.

    *** update***
Just checked date on the ticket. The ticket date is wrong! We had also gone out on the Tuesday elsewhere (and we have photos and receipts which are for the same time period).... the ticket was put on our windscreen four days later on the Saturday (we also have receipts)

    Q. do I still send the letter in the newbie thread?
