Harvey Water Softners

Hi,

I had called in Harvey water softener company for the demo and demo was really good. Having read the benefits of soft water and the hardness in the area I am in - definitely considering the water softener as a good investment...

Now to the important bit - Cost seems steep but if anybody already have one or gone through Harvey's can advise please,

£1632 (incl. VAT) for the following including installation,
HV3 Water Softener
Hard water tap
6 blocks of salt
Water filter on the drinking water tap

As of now, I have got for the 3 month trial to visibly see all the benefits myself every day but the cost is definitely on the higher side and having googled - I could find the Harvey softeners on the internet through eastmidlandswater.com and its £795 + say installation costs of £150 - I am still good £500 cheaper considering other extras???

Thanks
Sig

    There's a very good thread with lots of advice for you here;

For your comparison, we have a Monarch midi, cost is around £500, around £150 for installation. £1600+ is extremely expensive.

Another vote for the Monarch Midi, and for looking at the thread that manda included.
  • Hi Sig,

Did you end up choosing Harvey? I have got a quote for £1678 and it does not include hard water tap and hard water filter. So its even more expensive.

There are plenty of people selling exactly the same softeners as Harveys. You have found East Mids Water, another is TwinTec. There are many more.

Harveys started by selling softeners to these other outlets and built up quite a business that way. They then decided to sell direct and could've easily underut their dealers but 'came to an arrangement' not to do that.

Harveys are trading on their name.

Harveys only offer a one year free guarantee, other sellers offer more. E.g. East Mids - five years, Twintec - ten years.

But read that lengthy thread for more pros and cons.
  • I have a Harvey HV3.

They're unlike any other water softener on the market in the UK.

    They're literally the Rolls-Royce.

    Cheap? No.

    The Best? Yes.
