Normally press Fn and a key. Look across the top of the keyboard on the number keys, there should be some coloured symbols, typically blue or orange. The FN key is the same colour as these symbols.
On most laptops the touchpad can be enabled/disabled by holding down FN and pressing one of these keys. The symbols vary from laptop to laptop but are typically either a slash in a square or a hand over a rectangle with a crossed out circle next to it.0 -
thanks ,I have tried this after googling etc, but not worked
have looked into device manager and it is showing as 'enabled'
any other suggestions please?Nice to save.0 -

We use HP laptops (at work) and they have a small LED in the top-left corner.
If you double-tap it, the LED lights up and the touch-pad is disabled.
Double-tap it again, the LED goes out and the touch-pad works again.
Do you have something similar?
::edit::
Just noticed this from a quick Google.
F6 (with or without the Fn key) can enable/disable the touch-pad.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Easy way: bootable Linux Mint usb. If the pad works straight off the bat, then in is probably windows. of not then hardware. Sounds like hardware as you have tried so much0

Have you changed the charger? I had a customer with a laptop that the trackpad stopped working on and it turned out to be their cheap £5 Ebay special replacement charger they bought which was generating so much hash it stopped the trackpad from working.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have not changed the charger either, although I do have to keep it on charge all the time as the battery does not hold charge for longNice to save.0 -
Could be a driver
http://www.packardbell.com/pb/en/GB/content/download
Auto-detect or put model number in "EN LJ71"
There are 3 possible touchpad drivers. Try all in turn.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0 -
