The last one where he has bore a hole for new vent is most concerning to me. Is this right?0

Actually what I'd expect for the price paid...0

Awful. Most of it can be put right with a bit of effort but not a professional job by any stretch.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Wow. Not sure what to say, tbh. It looks like something I'd rip out for a client. I agree that it could look better with some elbow grease but it will never look great. I wonder how it would last.
£1100 in labour is not enough to buy you a good job, especially for a fully tiled room. I could talk about due diligence and exactly how you do it but I do feel sorry for you. There is no skill level there worth paying for.
If you have someone else do it, you should expect to pay a lot more. It is a building job, not something superficial, and this is where people fall down on price expectations as they can expect it to be simple.
I wouldn't pay the rest. Not sure how you go around trying to get anything back from him. I imagine he hasn't got much money to reclaim.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Victoria Plumb shower screen. Is everything else VP?
I know it's a rental property but if you don't want to be renovating the bathroom again then you need to spend money on it. Buy cheap, pay dear
Of course the vent isn't right. Was there an extractor in there before? Did he use an electrician?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

With no materials and only labour for a tiny bathroom that at a push would take a decent tradesman 3-5 days maximum, Not sure where you are and how much you pay people but I had my kitchen done and it took him a week due to the size of it, Labour only he charged me £200.00 per day.
Agree on the fact that this needs stripping back and redone from scratch again but as I say it is a simple quick job to do by rights and as for collecting anything owed by the previous tradesman you could try a legal challenge but it will cost more with no guarantee of getting anything back, In some cases you weigh it up and chalk it down to experience.0 -
Morning Stevie, you're not a regular on this board? I've been renovating houses for 17 years and our company has an FMB award for our bathrooms. I know what a proper bathroom fit entails and exactly how much they cost.
I'm not sure how your kitchen equates to a bathroom and I only have two guys who have a pretty high day rate of £200. That's plumber and electrician.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Renovating for 17 years means nothing here and as for being on a forum board again that matters not here to.
Basically very simple process here as to my post :-
OP posted a problem by a tradesman that tiled the bathroom and I liked this work against my kitchen being tiled (You see the pattern here don't you, Two jobs of a similar nature) So with this in mind me posting my experience is as a valid as anyone else's even if they claim superiority over my situation/experience.
I stand by what I said to tile this bathroom in full with floor and walls is a easy quick job that would take a decent tradesman no more than 5 days maximum, You may add a extra day to strip back the previous bodge job done here, Depending upon area and expertise required this work could be done at easy £200.00 a day and that is a good level of work.0
