can i get a photo copied without sending it away?

I live outside Belfast and have borrowed a very old photo of my deceased father. I want to get some copies but because it is so important (and not even my photo)I would rather it wasn't sent anywhere via the postal system.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get copies done immediately and if so where?

Do you know anyone who has a photo-quality scanner?

Or a good camera? A photo of the photo can be as good as a scan as long as you're careful when taking it.

A quick Google shows plenty of copy shops in Belfast.

As above, try taking a photograph of it. Set the camera to macro, avoid reflections on the glossy surface and keep the camera still. Without a negative this is how photographs are copied.

Try a few local photography shops. They may do this for you.

If you are any where near Antrim the Photoshop on Bridge Street could probably do it.

Any professional photographer with a good quality scanner could do this for you and probably even enhance the image if required.

They could print it then to any size required or give you a high res JPEG file you could get printed anywhere.

I see you are outside Belfast, if you are close to the North West/ Stroke City area bring it to me and I'll sort it in 30 minutes for you :)
I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:

Any decent scanner will take a great copy of it, then find anyone with photoshop and a little bit of knowledge how to use it, the photo can be restored very well.

I dabble in photography and design professionally by day, so I am sure I could help if you sent the photo.
