There will be a number of negative periods in there. An economic cycle is around 10 years. So, 5 years could mean you get the poor half rather than the good half. 10 years would men you could get everything.
No-one worries when things go up. However, when things go down, that is where people who invest above their risk profile, pull out and crystallise their loss and then go around telling people that they will never invest on the stockmarket again are born.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
