Trying to access my emails after an Avira Free update (1555 today) and every time I click on an email up comes an update, paid of course, for Avira. Any easy solution or is a dump for Avira Free.

Which email provider? I use Thunderbird and Avira and all seems to be fine for me after today's update.0

Gmail and BTinternet. Problem solved I dumped Avira. I was going to use Defender but it would not start saying there was another anti V program, which there wasn't. I did clear up most of the debris left behind when disposing of Avira but some was left where I couldn't find it. Went to AVG and thunderbird works ok. thanks for the reply.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Can you explain what your point is with this comment? There has been no mention of Avast in the thread, so I'm not sure why you brought it up.0
