Returns policy

I purchased approx £2500 of gym equipment from a leading fitness supplier.

Unfortunately, I do not have space in my garage for one of the items and wish to return this. The item is still in its box and hasn't been touched.

I contacted the sales advisor today, after receiving the goods only 5-6 days ago to request to return it. He said it was not possible to return the item, as it was sold in the showroom and isn't faulty.

I believe this reflects their returns policy, however where do I stand legally on this?

I presume you purchased in store rather than by phone/online?

If so, you have no statutory right to cancel unless the goods fail to conform to contract. If they offer a returns policy then that may give you a contractual right to cancel but it would dependent on whatever terms they offer.

legally you have no right to return anything purchased in a store unless their returns policy states otherwise. This does no affect your consumer rights.
