M&S Car Insurance cancelled

From their policy:-

We may cancel your policy, if there are serious grounds to do so such as non-payment, failure to supply requested validation documentation (proof of No Claims Discount, Security etc) or you have provided us with incorrect information and you have failed to provide a remedy when requested. Where we cancel we will provide seven days’ prior written notice to your last known address unless we are required

Nothing to suggest that they have to tell you why but does suggest they have to allow you to provide a remedy (therefore have to tell you why).

Security isn't bold therefore not a defined term but it is capitalised. My query therefore is what does Security mean

You really want this cancellation reversed. A complaint for certain for not allowing you to remedy.

Not when computers are involved :rotfl:

Same name and DOB is perfectly possible if you have a reasonably common surname. 2 out of 3 is a fair match

Yes, that is their attitude, but it is not bloody good enough! This sort of stuff should be reported to the ICO. They are effectively engaging in electronic guessing, and it can have serious consequences WHEN they get it wrong, as they may have done here.

No, when is correct, all possible things happen evenually, this is not particularly unlikely so will happen fairly frequently.
