Hi,
In the past I have had quite a few credit cards and loans with PPI. I Have never claimed as I went Bankrupt in 2006.
Previous to my Bankruptcy there were certainly loans etc that had PPI that were settled.
The problem is that I no longer have any of the paperwork and I can't remember all the companies/banks that I had credit cards/loans with or the dates. I also can't see any of this on my credit report. I have also been told that I can't claim even on the loans that were paid off.
So what is the truth? and if I can claim, how do I do so with no paperwork and a bad memory!!!
Help would be much appreciated.:)

You have no right to complain or receive any funds on pre-bankruptcy cases. That line in the sand created with your bankruptcy means that if you did complain and the complaint succeeded, you do not receive the money. It goes to the OR for distribution to the creditors that you left unpaid with your bankruptcy.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). PPI redress is treated as a pre-bankruptcy asset and belongs to the Official Receiver for re-distribution to your former creditors.
So you could complain about PPI, but you will never gain anything personally. Best left to the OR.
This is asked about so often that the Bankruptcy Forum of this Board has a "sticky" information thread about it. Read it here;
