V5 colour different to car issue?

You need to complete sections 7 and 8 of the V5C and send it off for a replacement.0

Do the VINs match?
It's probably an admin error, but maybe worth checking your V5 is for the correct car.0 -
Some of my MOTs state the car as a different colour, I thought maybe a colour blind tester??
One day walking up the road towards the car it did look that colour, seems in different lights the colour does change.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Bought a motorbike once. When the V5 arrived, the colour on the V5 was yellow, and the fuel was heavy oil.
The 'bike I had was black, and ran on petrol.
Just sent it back with the amendments marked, and a covering letter.
I found out to check religously when I got a 'bike MOT'd and the VIN number had a typo- a digit missing IIRC. So I sent the V5 back, and it took me a lot of time on the 'phone to persuade Swansea to send me the corrected V5, I've no idea why they thought I wouldn't want a replacement V5 when I sent mine to them.....I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Depends on which colour it is.
I had a fiesta that was metallic purple, but marked as blue on the V5. Never really bothered me.0 -
Trying to sell my dads car but V5 states it as RED and its never been red, bought from new at car dealer. Will we have a problem selling as dads now passed away?
Are you being pernickety ("it's actually maroon, I think you'll find...") or is it really grey/yellow/black/whatever-nothing-remotely-red?
If you're worried, simply fill in the colour box on the V5C and send it back to DVLA. If it's something-in-the-vaguely-red-spectrum, than don't be surprised if your carefully corrected "maroon" comes back as "red"...0 -
I've always been hot on checking that the V5 is correct ever since my father bought a car with details that didn't match the log book. It was a PITA to sort out, because the attitude of the licencing office was "nothing to do with us, it's your problem".0

My car is blue-grey; it says grey on the V5. To be honest - it only looks blue in bright sunlight (and in the brochure pictures) so I've never been able to do the same.I need to think of something new here...0 -
My new car (bought October 2015) was mistakenly registered by the dealer as black rather than red. I insisted that they made the update with DVLA and after a few weeks got a replacement V5C. If it's as obviously different as that I'd definitely get it updated - would you buy a car described as black that was actually red?0

About 20 years ago my other half had a Metalic pink Citroen AX and the registration document said Red, I don't think the colour printed on the document is specific, just the the closest solid colour.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0
