Hi
I have been trying to claim from Barclays on my paid Premier bank account via resolver.
I spoke the them over the phone and explained that it was implied when I was offered the account that if I did not take out this account that I would not keep my overdraft.
They have refused my claim on the the basis that I used for the following reasons
The Airport Lounge (which I never have)
I had claimed on a previous paid bank account on the insurance
I held a non-pay account previously
I was sent eligibility statements so i was aware that I was paying.
In the letter I have a number to call and now are unsure that what step to make next.
Anyones help would be appreciated.

Their reasoning is sound. In what way was the overdraft issue implied, and can you evidence this?0

It was implied unless I took it the account I would not be allowed an overdraft. Unfortunately there is no way to evidence it as it was a face to face in a branch.0

And you never read the paperwork they sent you?
Unless you have any evidence as to why the account was missold, there's little more you can do.0 -
Basically you accept it or go to the FOS if they said that in the rejection letter, it might be overturned or not. Unfortunately it sounds like your complaint is fairly generic (their responses suggest you said you didn't know you had it or what you were paying for) and your main point is unprovable so it would go down to the evidence presented by both sides
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

A very weak complaint. That reason typically leads to failure on complaints unless there is something else identified or the bank loses credibility on other areas.I was sent eligibility statements so i was aware that I was paying. In the letter I have a number to call and now are unsure that what step to make next.
If the bank is not timebarring you it will say in the letter that you can refer to the FOS if you disagree with them. If they are timebarring you then it will say they will not allow you access to the FOS.
The FOS only overturn around 1 in 10 packaged bank account complaints and they do not have an issue with packaged bank accounts. Your complaint is weak and unproveable. So, the odds are very much against you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
