Is there a way to record radio programmes (say from a streaming audio source) so i can convert them to mp3 or other and then listen to them on my ipod later.

Harddiskogg will record anything going through your sound card into ogg files, or mp3 with the right codec. Freeware http://www.fridgesoft.de/harddiskogg.php
    Hope that helps,

If you want to get the Real Audio, as in played by Real Player, you can try a trial version of HiDownload. You can then convert the Real Audio file into an MP3 using an earlier version of Streambox Ripper (newer versions don't have .ra to .mp3 capabilities).

  • Be sure when you do this you are not breaking any copyright laws. Please check the terms and conditions of the sites you are downloading radio from.

A combination of Net Transport to capture, and Akram Audio Convertor to convert the .ra files to wma or mp3 does the trick. Akram is free for the first 10 goes, and then after that it costs about £7 to buy. Well worth it. To break wma files down into tracks I use Milo software's Audio splitter.
