I am thinking of buying a Dell laptop directly from Dell. They give you the option of buying Office Home & Student 2016 as in the following link:

http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/04/help-me-choose/hmc-microsoft-office-2016-commercial

Do you know if the copy of Office I receive from Dell wiill be transferable to another laptop once I stop using it on laptop I bought it with?

Thanks

Only OEM versions aren't legally transferrable so Home and Student is transferable.

    Thanks both.

Yes, I looked at Amazon but I couldn't see whether the following was for a 32 or 64 bit computer:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Office-Home-Student-2016/dp/B01EZU2GZW/ref=pd_sim_65_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=ECR3HNNX53HENAT0KPC7

You'll get the code in the post and I imagine a link to download either 32/64 bit version.

Oh ok. I was just concerned because one of the reviewers said the following:

Potential buyers please ensure whether your system is 32 bit or 64 bit. I bought the 32 bit version which my machine did not accept because it is a 64 bit machine!

Rubbish. The 32 bit version will work on 64 bit windows, but not the other way around.

That reviewer doesn't know what they are talking about. You can quite happily run 32 bit versions of Office on a 64 bit machine. In fact Ms still recommend using 32 bit office unless you need the extra that the 64 bit version gives you such as huge spreadsheets instead of just very large ones

    You obviously can't run64 bit Office on a 32 bit machine/OS.

Last time i checked the UK was still in the EU. So you can sell or whatever you want to do with your software.
