Refund on tickets for cinema - certifcation was TBC and expecting xmen film to be 12

Options
Booked tickets for Logan for my husband, brother in law, my son aged 14 and his god father.

Tickets say certification was TBC and they turned up tonight and the certification is 15. So they wouldn't let my son in. Should I be able to get a refund

All other wolverine films have been certified 12 though this one is now a 15 - tickets state TBC

I used to work at a cinema and yes you can get a refund. You should have asked when you were still at the cinema though. You may not get a refund now, but if you're nice you may get a complimentary ticket.

What is the rules regarding an underage person watching a film with an adult ?

I assumed a 14 year old could watch a 15 rated film with an adult eg a parent.

No that only applies to under 12s and 12A films.
Odeon's policy on TBC classification is
To be confirmed - In some instances films had not been certified before the website was uploaded.
Child and Family tickets purchased before a film is certified as 15 or over can be refunded. Please contact Guest Services before the performance for a refund, as admision may be refused on the day.

Why didn't everyone just say he was 15!
  • Tbh I saw Logan & made the comment afterwards that if that was a 15 goodness knows what is classed as an 18 these days.

Strangely enough the same comment was made on Film 2017

I must admit, after watching it on the weekend I thought 18 would have been more appropriate based on the body count and gory violent scenes.

    Decapitations, in close-up, in a 15 film?
