So why do these large established credit reference agencies present your file to you as a score ?

How many examples have you seen ?, i presume its in the millions ?, otherwise you are not basing your opinion on anything other than a few circus side shows.........
  • they don't - they present your file to you as a set of data - and then hope that you find it all so confusing that you need a "score" just to make it all easier to understand - and so they have something additional to sell.

I've seen enough examples - probably more than you have seen of scores actually being meaningful.

i am able to understand the data, we all are hopefully !

They then translate all this info into a score, a numeric value on a scale, to give you an indication of your current standing......what is it that bothers you about this so so much ???

You are aware there are around 65 million people in the uk ?

One swallow doth not a summer make...........

The one 18 year old with zero history and the one bankrupt with a 999 score are fairy tale examples, neither of which apply to anyone on here !!!

in the real world, the scores are a true reflection

Only.... they aren't. Most people are lazy and want someone else to do all the looking and thinking for them. That's all they care about. Its convenience food for their finances. McMoney. Kentucky Fried Credit. Nothing more.

But whatever. I'm genuinely happy for you, if you really do find comfort or some sense of achievement in your score.
