Cash Back for New Home Owners (ie not 'switching')

Hi all

A couple of people in my office are buying their first flats and I'm trying to help them along with everything I learned when I bought my first place.

As they are starting new accounts for things like utilities, insurance etc, I've told them to try and use cashback sites where possible to help save a bit more money.

Re utilities - can they earn cashback, either from Quidco etc or from the switching sites, if they are not actually switching but opening accounts for the first time?

Many thanks for your help.

  • Hi,

If they are moving into a new property then there should be a supplier already there. All they need to do is find out who the current suppliers are then arrange to switch from them to a new supplier through quidco or a swithing site.

Do remember though that they will need to register their details first with the current suppliers in the new property.
