I have an agreed overdraft with my bank (HSBC), occasionally i have gone over this without realising and then HSBC have notified me. within days I am then able to transfer money to be back in credit from an adjoining savings account. Does anyone know if this will effect my credit rating?

Your credit file should be ok. But you should manage your money better. It will damage your internal score with HSBC and it's unlikely you will get any further credit from HSBC anytime soon.

    Maybe, check your credit files/reports.

If your going to think the credit ratings matter then im sorry to say they dont, only you can see them. Lenders see the history.

In future dont go over, check your account on a daily basis.

If you have gone into an unauthorised overdraft and remained in it for a period of days then, in addition to the hefty fees you will have paid on each occasion you have done this which will far far far outweigh any interest that your money could possibly be earning in a savings account, I would imagine that your entering into an unauthorised overdraft will have been reported on your credit files on each occasion that you have done it.
Exceeding your overdraft limit is viewed very negatively as it shows that your both your income and arranged overdraft limit are insufficient to see you through the month.

HSBC credit search/update for everything so be very careful.
