Look on ebay for headlight and bumper. Alternatively, cover crack in bumper with duck tape and fit a 2nd-hand light.

Many people do replace the front light panel with a facelift one because they are so cheap, just a few screws under the car. I have a crack on front bumber just taped it on underside.

Thank you. Not it is not ferrari and it is just ford c max ghia 2004 reg with 101000 miles on. Sorry maybe you are all right but why should i loose and be worse off because somebody bumped into me? I will try and fight what i believe is right. I did not cause the accident and i cannot replace the car for the money insurance company offered. I know it is superficial bump and the car is drivable but still there is the fact they i will be left with no car if i agree and if i do not agree the car will not be repaired

If i were you i would not put a claim through your insurance company as it will
1 effect your no claim bonus if you have any
2 your renewal price will be much more
3 your accident will register on a database as fault accident

I really suggest you make a claim on other parties insurance

So your valuation is indeed crazy, I'm afraid. I bought a C Max 2.0TDCi Ghia on a 2005 05 plate three years ago for my parents, with a FSH, full MOT, new tyres and under 90K - and three years ago I only paid £1995.

Similar car to yours (I'm just going to assume it's a diesel since you didn't mention it) can be had for as little as £800. You absolutely can replace that car for £1200.

Or for a slightly nicer looking example, still less than £1500

Of course, if it's *not* a diesel, there are loads more sub 100K C Max Ghias for sale for around a grand. Hell, there's one for sale a mile or so down the road from me for £795 which I looked at a couple of weeks ago.

Yep. "Stuff for Sale or Free in XXX" has plenty on sub £1500.

You're living in a fantasy world with the cost you say it'll be to replace the front bumper and light. Now we know the car I can say as a matter of fact that it will be below £500 so if they're offering you £1200 and to keep the vehicle then you're actually quids in and will be pocketing several hundred pounds.

If I had been in the position of having such an accident in that vehicle and was offered £1200 and to keep the car as well I'd have bitten off their hand before they changed their mind, got a replacement headlamp from a scrapyard or Ebay, swapped it over and taken the car to a local bodyshop and got them to fixed the crack and then used the money left over out of the payout to go on holiday for a week.
